Girl student critically injured in chainsaw attack inside Raptadu school

Anantapur

A shocking attack on a Class 10 girl student inside her school premises in Raptadu mandal of Anantapur district has sent shockwaves through the region.

The student was left critically injured after a man allegedly attacked her with a tree-cutting chainsaw inside her classroom on Saturday.

Preliminary reports suggest that the attack was linked to the man's alleged romantic interest in the girl, which she had reportedly rejected. The accused is suspected to have entered the school and targeted the student while classes were in progress.

The brutal nature of the assault has triggered concern among parents and the local community, with questions being raised over how an outsider could enter a school with a dangerous power tool and attack a student.

The injured girl was rushed for medical treatment and is reportedly battling for her life. Her condition and further details of the incident are awaited.

Police are expected to investigate the circumstances leading to the attack, establish the accused's motive and examine possible lapses in security at the school.

The incident has once again brought the safety of girl students in educational institutions into sharp focus.
