YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has stepped up his attack on the ruling NDA, alleging that intimidation and obstruction have weakened the fairness of Andhra Pradesh's local-body election process. He claimed that opposition candidates faced difficulties while filing nominations and questioned victories secured without a contest.
Jagan also criticised the police and election authorities over their handling of the process. The allegations have sharpened the political confrontation between the ruling alliance and the opposition. The NDA has defended its position, but the specific allegations require independent verification. The remaining polling will be closely watched as both sides seek to demonstrate their organisational strength in rural Andhra Pradesh.
