Costumes worn by Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao as Lord Krishna and Lord Rama, jewellery used in his mythological films and objects linked to his extraordinary career were once part of a collection meant to keep the Telugu legend’s memories alive. But what happened to these treasured pieces remains a question that deserves answers.

Lakshmi Parvathi, NTR’s second wife, was associated with efforts to preserve his personal and cinematic memorabilia in a museum in Hyderabad. The collection was intended to offer admirers a glimpse into the life of an actor who became one of Telugu cinema’s most celebrated stars and later served as Andhra Pradesh chief minister.

The museum, reportedly located near NTR’s former residence in Banjara Hills, was more than a collection of old costumes and accessories. For fans, it represented a rare opportunity to connect with the man behind the unforgettable screen characters.

However, reports of disputes over the buildings associated with the collection raised questions about its future. Accounts indicated that Lakshmi Parvathi lost control of the premises, leaving the status of the memorabilia uncertain.

Are NTR’s iconic costumes, ornaments and personal keepsakes still together? Have they been moved to another location? Who has custody of them, and can the public see them today?

These questions remain difficult to answer without an updated, independently verified account of the collection.

NTR’s legacy belongs to generations of Telugu people. Preserving the objects that tell his story would help protect an important part of the region’s cultural and cinematic history. A clear public account of the collection’s present location and ownership could finally bring clarity to a mystery that continues to surround the legendary actor’s treasured possessions.
