A complaint against a family member allegedly became an opportunity for bribery at a Hyderabad police station. The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau arrested Mirchowk police inspector M. Kondal Rao and home guard Abid Ali on October 27. According to the ACB, the inspector allegedly demanded ₹6 lakh and accepted ₹3 lakh through the home guard in return for closing a case against the complainant’s father and avoiding further coercive action. Officials recovered the alleged bribe money from the home guard. Both accused face legal proceedings, and the investigation is continuing. The case raises questions about the alleged misuse of police authority and whether further evidence will emerge as investigators examine the transaction.
